The Palliative Care Research Collaboration (PCRC) is a five-year Statewide project funded by The Hospital Research Foundation Group - Palliative Care. The program is aimed at improving access to and delivery of services to people and their families dealing with a life-limiting illness, to help them live as well as possible for as long as possible.
This research program is an innovative public health collaboration involving experienced researchers and clinicians, local health networks, peak advocacy organisations, and patients and family members in South Australia.

SA Government launches Palliative Care Connect services
The South Australian Government’s Department for Health and Wellbeing’s End of Life Care team has officially launched Palliative Care Connect which provides information and linkages to palliative care and bereavement support in South Australia.

2023 Stakeholder engagement event
The Palliative Care Research Collaboration, led by A/Prof Jaklin Eliott, held its Stakeholder Engagement Event on the 12th October 2023 at the University of Adelaide. This event brought together clinicians, consumers, policy makers, researchers, and representatives of community organisations, all of whom are committed to improving palliative care for South Australians.

Advance care planning with vulnerable populations report
On 26 August the Advance care planning with vulnerable populations report was officially launched at Government House in Adelaide. This report details the activities, participants, and findings of research conducted between 2017-2023 that aimed to identify what is, what could be, and what should be done to support effective advance care planning and associated end-of-life care conversations within ‘vulnerable communities’—those at a greater risk for poor health outcomes than most of the population. 05 Sep
